December 2015

What an enjoyable night it was. The food at the Pub Lane Tavern was awesome and the company even better. Santa showed to give all of us a little gift. (we must have been good ). A very big thankyou to Karen for organizing the venue and the menu  and to Karen and Angela for setting it all up on the night.  Add News Story here

Bribie Island Seaside Museum

November 2015

We had a great turn out for the run up to Bribie Island with 9 cars, it was another very hot day so after having lunch most of us went into the Seaside Museum for a very long look around in the air conditioning. I felt I learnt a lot more about Bribie Island’s history.Add News Story here

Il Castello - Sunnybank Hills

November 2015

After an extremely hot day 5 cars made their way to Il Castello Pizzeria for dinner where Leon met up with us. A good meal was had by all.

Mt Tamborine

October 2015

It was a very pleasant run to Mt Tamborine where we set up under the trees in a little picnic area just off the road.  We were only a small group of 8 in 6 cars.  We girls decided to take a walk up the road to get some fresh rhubarb and honey from the stalls beside the road and took a peak through the antique shops on the way back.

Mick and Diannes 50th

October 2015

We had a yummy bbq dinner and some chocolate gateau cake and trifle. And a late potato bake (that was prepared earlier and forgotten to be put in oven) but eventually cooked and all eaten.  The punch was a hit, with Tracey and I adding vodka to ours and enjoying the fruit soaked vodka at the bottom of our cups, which made us a little giggly (naughty punch).

Many laughs were had looking at the photos of everyone under the age of 12 and trying to guess who was who,

Highfields Pioneer Village

September 2015

It was a beautiful day for our trip to the Highfields Pioneer village in Toowoomba and we had a great rollup of 17 cars. The village covers an area of 20 acres of picturesque grounds with over 50 buildings of historic interest, including a fire station with vintage fire trucks, a chapel built in 1909 which is still used for weddings and christenings, pleasant surroundings and picnic facilities. No matter how old you are there is something for everyone at Highfields Pioneer Village.  We had billy tea and damper for morning tea on our arrival and after having a good look around, we had a sausage sizzle lunch with fruit salad and ice-cream for dessert.Add News Story here

Chef's Deck - Jacobs Well

September 2015

The Saturday night dinner run for September was originally planned for the Gem Hotel at Yatala, but as happened the last time we organised to go there, they were having a special event (pig races this time) on the same night, which means heaps of people and cars, so we decided it would be better to go somewhere else.

We decided to go to the Chefs Deck, a great little place just down the road at Jacobs Well. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it

Diner Crawl and Transport Museum Run

August 2015

Started the morning with a leisurely drive to Laidley where we stopped at the Eagle Rock Diner for morning tea, what a great place well worth the stop. We then headed off towards Gatton where we stopped at the Transport Museum, a few of us went through and enjoyed the museum. It was then time to head to Hot Rods Diner for lunch, (another great place in a 50’s theme) where we all enjoyed lunch and a good old chin wag.

A great day was had by all.

Off the Wall Diner - Wellington Point

August 2015

Off the Wall diner at Wellington Point is only a small place but the burgers are the biggest around and certainly proved a challenge for those who ordered them.

All Ford Day

July 2015

It was a very early and chilly start to the day, we were on the road to Willowbank at 6.30am.  I think it was only about 1degree on our arrival, and it certainly felt like it.  We had a good rollup of 13 cars and they all looked spectacular.  It was good to see Kerrin & Mark out in their XAGT, they were already there when we arrived.  Leon & Warwick were in their Cougars, Anne-Marie & Ross and Peggy in the XY utes, Tracey & Steve in the Mustang, Jason & Lisa in the XYGT, Gary C in his XYGS, Mal in his compact Fairlane, Karen in her hotrod, Scott in his tuff ute, Tony in his Mercury, Owen & Vicki in their Fairlane

Browns Plains Dinner Run

July 2015

It was a very cold night after a cold day, but a few of us managed to brave the chill and go to The Noodle Box at Browns Plains for some lovely hot curry and Chinese dishes, although we didn’t hang around too long.  We were all a bit keen to get home to the warmth again.

Beaudesert and College Crossing Run

June 2015

We were only a small group for the run to Beaudesert for morning tea and then on to Colleges Crossing for lunch.  The day was a little overcast and we thought we might get wet but we were lucky and the rain went around us.

GJ's Dinner Run

June 2015

Numbers were down, with people being away or not well.  We all had a hearty meal and left after dinner as it was getting a bit cool.

Fine Iron Car Show

June 2015

As usual it was a good turnout of classics and spectators for the Fine Iron Car show at Ebbwvalve.  All Classics sponsored 1st and 2nd place trophies in 2 categories

Hampton Auto Museum

24 May 2015

We had a good rollup for our run to Hampton to check out the auto museum.  It was going to be a long drive so we stopped at Esk and visited the local bakery for some morning tea in the park before heading off again towards Hampton.  I think we were all impressed with the museum, it not only had a heap of cars but so much stuff from days gone by.  It was great to look through everything and recall items from the past.

Fish and Chips Dinner Run

16 May 2014

Fish and chips on the foreshore at Wynnum was the go for our May dinner run.  We had planned to go to the Pelican’s nest but ended up at a small venue just a few metres down the road.  We moved in, rearranged the furniture and basically took over the joint.

Fort Lytton Picnic Run

12 April 2015

We had a great turn out for our Fort Lytton run with a dozen cars at the meeting spot. We had a leisurely cruise to Cannon Hill shopping centre where we met up with a dozen or so cars from the Thunderbird club for the rest of the cruise to Fort Lytton.

We all did a tour of the Fort (what a fascinating place, to think most of us didn’t even know this place was here) we found it very informative and after the tours we all sat around in the shade of some trees and had a leisurely lunch.

What a picture perfect day to have a look around something so spectacular right on our door step, one of Brisbane’s hidden gems.

Great Place, Great day, Great cars, Great people.

Wivenhoe Dam Picnic Lunch Cruise

15 March 2015

It was a perfect day for a cruise and attendance was good with 10 cars at the meeting place.

We stopped at the Fernvale bakery and had morning tea in the park across the road before setting off again to Wivenhoe Dam.  We set up and kciked back and enjoyed a relaxing lunch under the trees on the bank of the dam

Logan PCYC

2 March 2015

This was not a listed club event, but it is one that we do each year as a club.  We had 12 cars

We had our marquee with the banner and our flags, our cars were spectacular as usual  and it looked pretty good, which is probably why we took out “Best Club Display”.  Well done All Classics.

Billy's Chicken Dinner Run

Victoria Point Picnic Lunch

15 February 2015

It was a lovely day with only the slightest hint of a shower.  We arrived at our destination which was packed out with tourists, boaties and picniccers, so we followed Michael Dignam to another spot he knew of just down the road.  It was a beautiful quiet little beach with all picnic requirements and even some play things and trees to climb.

Dinner Run to Sundowner

17 January 2015

There were 8 cars.  It had been a very hot day and it was good to get out into the cooler evening. The food was great and we even had a game of pass the parcel.

Breakfast BBQ at Cabbage Tree Point

11 January 2015

It was an overcast day but that was good because it was also very hot and humid.  There were 26 of us in 12 cars.  It was a good run to the point and it stayed dry until we were all in the middle of cooking our breakfast on the BBQs, it was then that it decided to bucket down.  Everybody bolted for the shelters, fortunately Tony and Karen had brought along their portable BBQs so we were able to continue cooking under the shelters.  Some continued on to Jacobs Well for coffees afterwards.
